In 2021 I wrote a song called “There’s a song in your heart”. I was thinking of ways to inspire my piano students to start composing their own melodies and it just popped inside my head.
As I was praying about what my next post should be, the song came to my mind again. Not to inspire students to write their own this time, but an overwhelming conviction that we all need to hear God speak to us through it. That we need Him to place a special song in our hearts.
In Ezekiel 36: 26 God gave the message to Israel that he will give them soft responsive hearts. If we want to hear Him speak to us, we need to open our hearts and ears to hear what He is saying to us through His Word and the Holy Spirit within us.
In Zephaniah 3:17 it says in the last sentence that the Lord rejoices over us with joyful songs. Throughout the Old and New Testaments people sang songs of praise and worship, thankfulness and sadness.
Each of us has our own unique song in our hearts that responds to the call of the Lord. To be able to hear it, you need to cultivate an intimate relationship with God. Speak to Him about everything. Be quiet and listen to his response. Acknowledge the working of the Holy Spirit within you and let the light of Christ shine through you.
I’ll leave you with this final message:
There’s a song in your heart, that only you know. It’s a song in your heart, that only God shows.
Let the song in your heart light up your life. It’s a song in your heart, a song for Christ. Awake your soul, give Him your life! It’s a song in your heart, a song of light.
There’s a message so clear if only you’ll hear. It’s a message so dear, if you’ll only hear.
Let the song in your heart light up your life It’s a song in your heart, a song for Christ. Awake your soul, give Him your life! It’s a song in your heart, a song of light.
May you purposefully make time to spend time with the Lord to hear your own personal song.
With love
Catherina
