Who has your heart?

Matthew 6:21 KJV “for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

In a busy world where things and people compete for your attention, it is easy to get caught up and loose your focus.

I recently read a book about stewarding and managing your money. I had to rethink my budgeting principles as well as whether or not I am placing God first.

It is easy to fall into a trap where materialistic things and pressure to provide for all your family’s needs become more important than putting our trust in God for provision.

Soon your heart is filled with so much anxious thoughts that your words become negative, your joy is depleted and you feel like you are walking on stormy waters and there is nothing that can calm the seas.

Jesus knew that the world could become troublesome, therefore He said we should not fear because He has overcome the world! In Matthew 8 we read how Jesus calmed a storm, and in Matthew 14 Jesus walked on water and pulled Peter out of the water when he became fearful of the wind.

When we place our trust in the Lord, He will comfort and guide us out of our stormy seas. When we ask God for wisdom and seek His Kingdom first, He will take care of all our needs out of his abundant riches.

Who has your heart? Ask God to search your heart (Psalm 139:23). Give all your cares to Him and make Him your focus and priority. Cultivate a Kingdom mindset by reading God’s Word, meditating on it and building a relationship with Him through prayer and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Make Jesus your rock for He is the way and the truth and the life!

Let your heart belong to Him in all aspects of your life. He promises to give you all that you need.

May you be blessed!

Catherina
