Promptly

Are you ready to act immediately?

The promise

Psalm 32:8 KJV
[8] I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Reflect

As you start this last month of the year, look back at the times that you had a prompting from the Holy Spirit to go a certain way.  As you reflect on it, can you identify the times you have responded promptly?

According to the Merriam-Webster.com Dictionary one of the definitions of being prompt is “being ready and quick to act as occasion demands”.

When we are not ready and quick to act to promptings from God, we delay the blessings he has for us. We need to spend time in the Word to prepare ourselves and then spend time in God’s presence to hear. He wants to direct our steps.

Response

Psalm 119:60 KJV
[60] I made haste, and delayed not To keep thy commandments.

Obedience = ❤️

In John 14:15 we are reminded that if we keep His commandments, we show him our love. By responding promptly, we show God that we trust him and want to please him.

Time is precious

Ephesians 5:15-17 KJV
[15] See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, [16] redeeming the time, because the days are evil. [17] Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

We do not have time to waste. Now is the time to do the work the Lord has assigned to us in prompt obedience. The more time you spend studying the Word, the better you will understand what the Lord’s will for your life is.

Romans 14:12 KJV
[12] So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

What are the talents and gifts God has given you? How can you use them for his Kingdom? Ask the Holy Spirit to help you walk in your calling.

Should we act impulsively?

Obeying God immediately is not the same as acting without forethought. Be sure that you are listening to his guidance and not your own desires. Measure every word against scripture to ensure you don’t act when you should have prayerfully waited upon the Lord for an answer. Your decision today will influence your future.

Are you ready to act?

May the Lord give you peace and bless the labour of your hands! In Jesus Name 🙏

Catherina
