Matthew 5:14 KJV
[14] Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Are you shining Christ’s light from within you?
As we approach Christmas, I ask myself the question of whether I am living in such a way that others can see Christ within me.
What does that look like? If you were to walk past someone in the mall, how can you tell if that person is living in the light? What characteristics are you looking for? Is it the way they dress or how they treat the shop assistant that sets them apart?
The bible teaches that we are Christ’s ambassadors. Being an ambassador means we have to represent Christ to the world (Read 2 Corinthians 5:20)
We should act and dress as God’s children in the physical, and we should also choose to dress ourselves in spiritual garments.
Colossians 3:12 KJV
[12] Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
Are these “clothes” evident in your life?
Living in the light
1 Peter 2:9 KJV
"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:"
We were called to live in Jesus’s marvellous light; we should live honourable lives for the Lord. Not as people still under the bondage of our sinful natures, but as a people who have been set free from our captivity through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Grab hold of the abundant life that Christ has given us and do everything for the glory of God!
This Christmas season, may you be guided into Jesus’s glorious light and may you glow!
Blessings
Catherina
