As this year started, I was given a specific word by the Lord that comes up every time I am facing a challenge. Do you have a word or words for the year?
To have strength can mean:
- To be physically strong; or
- To be able to withstand pressure both mentally and physically.
So often we rely on our own strength to keep us going, only to realise one day that it is not enough. Sure you have physical capacity to do certain things, but when the pressures of life hits, how strong are you really?
In 1 Peter 5:7 we are reminded that Jesus cares for us and that we can cast all our fears and anxiety upon him.
As I was doing my bible study this morning, I was reading out of Exodus 13 and 14 where God brought the Israelites out of captivity in Egypt. I read how He miraculously let them walk through the Red Sea. All they did was walk, but God won the battle for them. They didn’t have to use any strength to battle the Egyptians, God did it all for them.
My word for the year is “strength”. It reminds me that Jesus gives me the strength I need, that the Lord is my strength and will give me the victory.
Isaiah 41:10 KJV "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
What is your word or words for the year?
Remember: when we feel at our weakest, God is working in us the strongest.
With love
Catherina
