Psalm 103:2 - 4 KJV "Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;"
When hardship comes it is easy to forget all the benefits the Lord has bestowed upon us. We get entangled in a worldly struggle; forgetting who God is and what he has and will still do.
Lately the Lord has been speaking to me about my business. I know what I have to do, but truly feel out of my comfort zone. Which is good, but can sometimes be a bit disheartening. I’ve been on a journey this year of trial and error. I don’t want to do the same things and expect different results, so I’ve been praying for new methods to spread the word and help others to grow in their faith. It is a constant journey (no boredom here!)
In the midst of all of this a family member passed away and I felt adrift and sometimes questioning every choice I’ve made since leaving South Africa. Am I on the right path? Or am I wasting time and resources on a dead end. Am I authentic enough? Am I enough? Surely there is someone better out there to do this.
I’m sure everyone can relate to feeling this way at times. Yet it is in these times of self-doubt that we need to take every thought captive and say “no” to them.
Today, if you are feeling like this, remember with me some of the things the Lord has done for us:
- God loved us so much that He has send his one and only Son to die on the cross for us. By the grace of God we have been saved through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- He heals all our diseases, restores our souls and renews our strength.
- He gave us a new spirit when we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Saviour.
- He calls us his children and never leaves us nor forsakes us.
- He forgives our sins and by the blood of Jesus we are washed and purified.
So today, when self-doubt tries to hold you down, praise the Lord for his goodness and mercies that endures forever. Clothe yourself in a garment of praise. Surrender to Jesus . Forgive those who hurts you and be renewed in your mind through reading and listening to God’s word. You matter. What you do on earth matters. Nothing is insignificant in the Kingdom of God.
Colossians 3:12 - 13 KJV "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye."
May this message bless you and may the Lord renew your strength.
