Do you know what your purpose is? How does your daily goals enable you to reach your destiny?
If someone asked me this a year ago, I would have had a ready answer. As I was listening to a devotional podcast recently, they discussed the topic of running the race with endurance. I asked myself the question: Who am I in this race? Does anything I do on a daily basis help me to reach the end goal.
"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." Matthew 28:18-20 KJV
The scripture above is known as the Great Commission, where Jesus sends us to tell the people about him and what he did on the cross for them and how much God loves them.
If you look at your goals for the year, do they align with this ultimate mission? Are you cultivating your talents to serve the Lord and expand his kingdom?
The Lord wants to give us our heart’s desires if we delight in him. (Psalm 37:4) He will provide for us as we seek his Kingdom first and place him first in our lives.
Ask the Holy Spirit to show you anything you have to change in your daily life so that your goals aligns with God’s plans for your life. We don’t have to drift around aimless. We have been given a spirit of power, love and a sound mind, therefore we will have clarity for the direction we need to take, if we trust in the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Be reminded that you are on a journey. A journey to discover more of God and who Jesus is in your life, a journey of creating a relationship that will withstand time. It is a race and you have to build endurance, therefore not every season will look the same and challenges will come, but they will not overcome you because Jesus has already overcome the world.
Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you one area of your life that needs to change so you can step into his purpose for your life. You will be amazed at the direction your life may shift with one step of obedience at a time.
I love listening to podcasts about our purpose in life and have found that when we apply the principles that is written in the bible and listen to teachers who teach us out of scripture how to be more devoted to Christ, that even if times are tough and the opposition is great, God causes us to triumph as we commit all of our ways to Him.
Remember: You will not know if you’re on the right track if you don’t step out onto it and start walking.
May the Lord bless you and keep you!
