Faith to move the mountains

You would assume that coming to NZ in trying circumstances would lead to faith that move mountains and yet, when you are faced with giants, it can be easy to forget where your help comes from.

According to the Bible, God has given every believer a measure of faith. So why do we start to doubt when we face trials and have to express that faith and trust God for a favourable outcome? I find that a great barrier to remaining full of faith is patience. Patience to wait for God’s timing, which we know is perfect, but starting to doubt when our timeline isn’t met.

I grew very impatient when we couldn’t come to New Zealand and had to wait two months. As I look back now, I can see how God worked on our behalf. He made a way when humanly speaking there shouldn’t have been a way for us to come. We received undeserved favour because He loves us.

Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is the assurance of things that are yet to come. So why are we impatient if we don’t get results immediately? In James 1 we read that we should see it as an opportunity for great joy when our faith is tested, because it enables us to grow. Will we grow if we ask and immediately receive? A little. Will we develop our character or gain better endurance? No. Is it painful or difficult? It sure can be. Will it be worth it? Yes!

Our attitude towards our difficulties should always be to hold on to the promises of God. To believe that through Jesus they are yes and amen. Declaring scriptures over our lives, families and circumstances helps us to keep our focus on Jesus.

Choose to spend time with people who encourages you to grow. Spend time in the Word and most importantly, spend time with God. The more you come to know God, the more your faith will grow, but remember: you already have a measure of faith, so don’t think or say that you lack faith.

Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit as a helper, because he knew we needed Him. Patience is part of the fruit of the Spirit. Trust the Holy Spirit to grow your patience.

Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and to help you to know what God’s plan for your future is so you can align your plans with His plans for your life. You will be amazed at what He will show you!

Until next time!

Thank you very much for this word this is something a really needed to read! We are so often overcome by our old instincts to follow our mind and the flesh, but we forget to look to God as he is our supplier and all the things, we go through is in the plan that He has for us.

Once again thank you for listening to God and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit in writing what is shown to you. Bless you
